GOETHE ON DEMAND is a service that offers movies online. Kindly find out more about us on https://www.goethe-on-demand.de/about-us The films are available as an online stream via TVs, computers, tablets and smartphones. We recommend using Chrome or Firefox.

 

How can I rent movies on GOETHE ON DEMAND?

To rent movies online, simply click "Watch Movie Now" next to the movie. A rented movie can be watched as many times as you like for 48 hours.

 

Where can I find the films I have rented?

You can find every movie you have rented for 48 hours under MY MOVIES.

 

How can I change the language and activate subtitles?

You can change the language and activate subtitles by starting the movie and then pausing it. In the menu that appears in the player you will also find the language options.

 

What system requirements do I need?

GOETHE ON DEMAND works on most computers, laptops, tablets and smartphones.
PCs must meet the following requirements: x86 or x64 processor with 1.6 GHz or higher, 512 MB RAM.
On Mac, you need the following requirements: Intel Core Duo processor running at 1.83 GHz or faster, 512 MB of RAM.

 

What Internet speed do I need?

GOETHE ON DEMAND works best under the following conditions:

▪ 0.5 Mbit/s - minimum speed.
▪ 1.5 Mbit/s - recommended speed
▪ 3.0 Mbit/s - necessary for SD quality
▪ 5.0 Mbit/s - necessary for HD quality

 

How can I watch GOETHE ON DEMAND movies on TV?

GOETHE ON DEMAND movies come to your TV in three ways:
▪ Open up the www.goethe-on-demand.com page in your TV's browser and play the film there.
▪ Stream the movie with streaming sticks like Chromecast and FireTV or Apple TV from your laptop, smartphone or tablet to your TV.
▪ Connect a laptop with HDMI cable to the TV and play the movie on the laptop.

 

The movie does not play correctly on the TV. What to do.

Some TV browsers and the browser that comes pre-installed on the Fire TV Stick have problems displaying GOETHE ON DEMAND movies correctly. In this case, use one of the other two options mentioned above to play the movie on your TV.

 

A rented movie does not play or does not play correctly. What should I do?

If a movie won't play, we'll be happy to help you quickly. Please just write to service-goethe-on-demand@goethe.de and provide the following information:

▪ On which device do you want to rent the movie?

Why do I have to create an account?

Only if you are logged in, we can assign which movies you have rented and how long they are available to you.
